Apparently Barcelona loves McDonalds even more than people in Amsterdam. They have a 5 story McDonalds here, dwarfing the paltry 3 story McDonalds in Amsterdam. Though the 5th floor was completely dark, so maybe it's just for storage. Since their food is so processed it never spoils it keeps for a long time.
Also came across a glorious fire display in one of the squares.
It's Friday Night!
Pretty low key Friday here, sorry to disapoint you, but at least I was able to carry around my GPS.
Yesterday was a huge celebration for the independence of Catalonia. When I was out running Wednesday I came across the set up for a huge celebration, so we made our way down. Between guys walking around selling beer and random conversations with drunken locals (Vive Obama!) we had a pretty smashing time. As it turns out, if the person on stage says "Gracias" it is not always appropriate to respond "De Nada!" Live and learn.
